The Frankfurt Oktoberfest has announced its ambassador for this year: Alessandra "Sandy" Meyer-Wölden will take over the festive opening of the Hessian-Bavarian Wiesn-Gaudi in September. The event, which takes place from September 18 to October 13 in the marquee at Deutsche Bank Park, once again promises visitors plenty of music, swaying fun and culinary delights.
Traditionally, the festival is opened with music by Mallorca star Mickie Krause. But the program has much more in store: In addition to popular acts such as Roy Hammer and Oli P., the renowned band WANDA will also be providing entertainment this year. A total of around 20 events are on the program.
Advance sales for all events begin on 25 April and are available at www.frankfurter-oktoberfest.de. Tickets are available from 50 euros and include a minimum consumption. There is also the option of purchasing tickets for the family and party morning pints.
In addition to celebrating, there is also doing good: one euro of every Frankfurt Oktoberfest ticket sold goes to the Reiner Meutsch Foundation Fly & Help, which is committed to the education and upbringing of children and young people. The donations will go towards the construction of schools in the Dominican Republic. Further information about the foundation and the project can be found at www.fly-and-help.de.
