Something is happening in the Bahnhofsviertel: The 25hours Hotel in Niddastraße is currently being renovated and expanded - and is also getting a new name: Levi`s becomes The Trip! The renovation will probably last until September 21, when the 25hours Hotel The Trip will present itself in all its new splendour. The concept is based on the location near the main station and offers the guest a kind of small trip around the world.
Ten years ago, the house was opened with 76 rooms in different categories. Even then, the post-war building was transformed into a contemporary hotel by Frankfurt artist Michael Dreher together with the architectural firm Karl Dudler. Now Dreher, together with design expert Thomas Tritsh of Morgen Interiors, is responsible for the expansion and the new concept.
"Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel is an up-and-coming quarter and thrives on the special mix of milieus, cultures and nationalities," explains General Manager Andreas Schnürer. "This is where the wild heart of the Main metropolis beats. In addition, it is incredibly exciting what has happened in the creative scene, gastronomy and bars in recent years." The hotel aims to reflect this with its new name, new design and new offerings.
So then, the 152 rooms on the 1st to 6th floors, inspired by the dazzling and often harsh reality of the quarter, are peppered with references to adventurous expeditions and tell stories of faraway lands and people from around the world. Each floor is dedicated to a different theme world and thus has its own individual character. The exclusive furniture, lamps and wallpaper, carpet inlays and textiles reflect Africa and Asia, Oceania and the Arctic, the tropics and the mountains as leitmotifs.
The hotel's public courtyard is transformed into an exhibition space for the global art project INSIDE OUT. Inspired by the French street artist JR, documentary photographer Rey Scue portrayed a total of 250 neighbours with different destinies and documents the multicultural diversity of Frankfurt's station district with the project SMILE THE WORLD.
There are also gastronomic changes. The new restaurant BAR SHUKA is inspired by the vibrant life of Tel Aviv. Charming chaos, clash of cultures and hospitality go hand in hand with honest products and good food. Creative creators David and James Ardinast are going back to their Israeli roots with the concept, fulfilling their dream of connecting their hometowns of Frankfurt and Tel Aviv. Top chef Yossi Elad gives his impetus to the cuisine: here, traditional Middle Eastern dishes meet local products and unusual combinations. A perfect place for conviviality, culinary fun and a bit of Balagan. In addition to the restaurant, there will also be the SHUKA Bar on the ground floor. Here, sake-based drinks will be served in a stylish Japanese ambience.
In addition, the hotel is now offering the opportunity for relaxed co-working in the studio. Freely following the motto "My studio is your studio", business travellers or freelancers can rent a comfortable workspace with free use of wifi, printer, scanner and copier as well as access to the kitchen with tea, coffee and water.
The first rooms are already shining in new splendour. By the end of September, the remaining rooms as well as the public areas of 25hours Hotel The Trip will also be modernised and equipped with all 25hours standards. During the renovation, the IMA Pop Up at Niddastraße 56 will offer a best of Chez IMA menu.
