After the successful premiere, the Santa Run of the radio station Antenne Frankfurt went into the second round on St. Nicholas Day. Hundreds of big and small Santa Clauses met at the Eisernen Steg, in order to master the 4.8 km long running course of the "funniest city run in Frankfurt" from there. Of course, the focus is on having fun, which was evident from the good-humoured participants. But of course it is not just a fun event, the "Santa Run" also serves a good purpose. Because a part of the starting fees will be donated again this year to the Frankfurt Foundation for Children with Cancer. A really good cause, which you can of course support even without a Santa costume <link https: www.kinderkrebs-frankfurt.de _blank> HERE.
After a "pre-glow party" the starting signal was given at 7pm and when the Santa Clauses then stormed the banks of the Main, it was already a real spectacle. Team spirit and fun took precedence over athletic best performances, even though there were of course a few Santa Clauses who were eager to be the first to complete the running course. All participants were then rewarded at the end with an after-run party with plenty of music, food and drinks.
The Santa Run shows that a crazy idea can be turned into a successful event that all participants enjoy and then does some good. So one can only hope that the Santa Clauses will run for all they're worth again in 2018.
