The Rheingau VDP.Weingüter present 30 epicurean events
Since 1987, the Rheingau VDP.Wineries and top restaurateurs have cultivated the tradition of offering the best from their cellars and kitchens combined with an interesting cultural program during ten eventful and enjoyable days after the end of the grape harvest. Modeled after the famous Burgundian wine festival days "Trois Glorieuses", this series of events has enjoyed great popularity for 30 years now.
On Friday, November 4, the GLORREICHEN RHEINGAU TAGE will open with five events in the Rheingau, Wiesbaden and Falkenstein im Taunus. The extensive program of the GLORREICHEN RHEINGAU TAGE offers attractive events for every taste and every budget. In particular, the two major wine presentations "Ruby Red Symphony" for the red wines (Saturday, the 5th of November, at BREUER's Kellerwelt in Rüdesheim) and "Rheingau Open" (Saturday, the 12th of November, at Schloss Johannisberg) as a presentation of all VDP.Rheingau estates together with numerous Rheingau colleagues as well as guest vintners from other wine-growing regions, who together will present more than 400 wines for a moderate entrance fee, will appeal to a large audience.
The round of events offers exquisite gala menus, the "Giants", a "CHARTA Wine Party", the detour on the "Ways of the Cistercians", a "Liaison Culinaire" as well as singing to wine and rock on the occasion of the anniversary "300 years of Kabinett". The Johannisberg VDP.wineries are once again represented at Schwarzenstein Castle, and 8 winegrowers together with 8 chefs prepare an eventful evening for the guests at Crass Castle, while the anniversary of the "10th Edelsektparade" is celebrated at VAUX Castle. The event titles promise "Vocation and Passion", "Noble Tradition", "Passion as the Key to the World" and a "Culinary Wine Journey Around the World". Explore " 3.2.1. grape varieties", "From cheese to wine", "Left and right of the Rhine ", "Fireworks of flavours", a look "Back to the future" and much more.
Once again, the "Riesling Gala" in the layman's dormitory of Kloster Eberbach will be the highlight and the finale of the GLORREICH RHEINGAU DAYS, for which the Rheingau VDP.vintners have invited their colleagues from other wine-growing regions with their wines. The grand gala menu will be staged by top chefs from the region and from all over Germany as well as, for the first time, a guest chef from Oslo. The "after-wine session" will conclude the Riesling Gala and the 30th GLORREICHEN RHEINGAU TAGE.
The date of the next GLORREICHEN RHEINGAU TAGE has already been set: next year, the 31st GLORREICHEN RHEINGAU TAGE will be celebrated from November 3 to 12, 2017.
