A new world record attempt will be launched at the 2nd Green Sauce Day in 2019

If you love green sauce or simply want to take part in the big world record attempt, you should already mark 6 June 2019 thickly in your calendar. That's when the 2nd Green Sauce Day will take place - and with it, the second attempt to reach the number of servings of green sauce consumed needed to break the targeted world record. In 2017, this was not achieved with a total of 103,711 servings of Grüne Soßezwar, but the initiators Maja Wolff and Torsten Müller (Grüne Soße Festival GmbH) were still thrilled with the result - especially given the enormous heat that had Frankfurt firmly in its grip that day.

2019, however, the record is now to be achieved. To this end, the first "Green Monday" took place on Monday, 17 September. Here, around 40 representatives of Frankfurt's business community gathered under the title of "Record Pioneers" to jointly give the starting signal for the 2nd Green Sauce Day in Frankfurt. Maja Wolff and Torsten Müller, together with Head of the Department of Economic Affairs Markus Frank, Head of the Department of the Environment Rosemarie Heilig and Oliver Schwebel from the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency welcomed their guests and presented the concept for the 2nd world record attempt in green sauce eating.

"Frankfurt is booming - and it's a good place to live". This was recently confirmed by the English magazine "The Economist", which named Frankfurt "Germany's most liveable city". No wonder, because in the Main metropolis, in addition to the flourishing economy, there is also a thriving culture, grown internationality, diversity in coexistence and, of course, the nationally known and popular Green Sauce.

Under the motto "Frankfurt eats world record", the aim for the coming year is to surpass the number achieved in 2017. The organizers are very optimistic: "Last year's Green Sauce Day was a complete success and a great celebration for our city. We are therefore already calling on all companies and businesses to get involved, join in and thus become part of the world record!".

Deputy Head of the Economy Markus Frank and Head of the Environment Rosemarie Heilig, who willingly took over the patronage for the Green Sauce Day again, are particularly pleased that the record mark is now being targeted once again. "The fact that we can make a difference in our city is not new - that's why we will fully support Green Sauce Day from the city side," said Markus Frank.

On behalf of Frankfurt's business community, Oliver Schwebel, Managing Director of Frankfurt Economic Development, emphasized, "Green sauce is Frankfurt's Lovemark. This is what Frankfurt tastes like, exactly how our city feels." Ferdinand Huhle (Mainova) used his experiences from last year to show how a company can not only participate, but also inspire its employees to a special degree - all within a really manageable financial framework. As a partner agency of the Green Sauce Day, Steffen Ball from ballcom presented a variety of ideas for company events outside the company's own four walls via a video message. Simon Horn from Restaurant Margarete is well prepared for another world record attempt: together with the VGF, he has already developed a complete interior design including kitchen for the historic tram to offer a green sauce menu on the popular city route on 6 June 2019.

A portion of the proceeds raised through the world record codes will be donated to charity. Organizers plan to partner with the cleanffm initiative for a clean city. The motto is "We all love green sauce - we all love a clean city." Environment department head Heilig is delighted: "Our city should not only become magical, but also clean."
