In Alt-Sachsenhausen, the two inns "Daheim im Lorsbacher Thal"and "Daheim in der Affentor Schänke" inspire their guests with warm hospitality, delicious apple wine and tasty home cooking from the region. Frank and Pia Winkler have now brought this concept to Frankfurt's Kleinmarkthalle. They welcome their guests in a new guest room on the hall gallery. Here there is not quite as much hustle and bustle as on the market area, but the very special atmosphere of the Kleinmarkthalle can also be felt from up here.
The "Daheim" brings a piece of old Saxon hospitality and coziness to the heart of the city. The guests - no matter whether they come from Frankfurt or from far away, should feel here like at home. Like at home, chef Bernd Schweizer cooks fresh and hearty classic home cooking using mainly regional ingredients and is happy to be looked over his shoulder. Served are mostly small portions, so that one can taste at once several of the delicacies such as mini Bratwurst on mash, Mainzer Spundekäs, Grüne Soße wie daheim or Handkäs with music. All home-made specialties are served fresh on site, to take away in reusable dishes or preserved in a jar.
But there is not only the opportunity to get to know the variety of regional cuisine. Of course, a good glass of cider should not be missing. And here the hosts can draw from the full - after all, at "Daheim im Lorsbacher Thal" they probably have the largest cider list in the world with around 300 varieties. In addition to hearty house wines from meadow orchards in the Frankfurt area, there will also be a changing selection of samples from the international world of cider. And as the icing on the cake, freshly tapped local beer from the Kultland brewery in Ockstadt in the Wetterau region will also be served in the Kleinmarkthalle. No question: about this family addition, you can really be happy!
