Demolition of the seats on the main grandstand of the racecourse on Saturday, 10. February, from 9am to 12pm
The dispute over the racecourse appears to have finally been settled and demolition of the main grandstand can begin. This will mark the first step in the new use of the site. As there are still plenty of usable folding seats, Frankfurt's sports clubs will now be given the opportunity to dismantle them for their own use. This will be possible on Saturday, February 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
City Councillor Markus Frank and City Councillor Jan Schneider are looking forward to welcoming interested sports club representatives during this period at the old racecourse, entrance Schwarzwaldstraße 125, in Frankfurt. Councillor Frank says: "The 'dismantling action' offers the sports clubs the unique opportunity to obtain a large number of robust folding seats for their own purposes". There are, after all, around 1000 well-preserved green folding seats available.
Whoever is interested and in need should only come in good time and definitely bring tools. A wrench (17 mm) is needed for disassembly. The seats are attached with two nuts.
Robust work clothes and sturdy shoes are also recommended. Employees of the sports office are happy to assist less experienced sports club representatives. There is also the possibility to drive with loading vehicles up to the main grandstand.
