From Saturday, December 2 to Wednesday, December 20, an Advent concert will be held in Frankfurt's Liebfrauenkirche every evening at 7.30 pm.
Every evening at 7.30 pm, Frankfurt's Liebfrauenkirche will host an Advent concert for singing along.
<x>Enjoy music during Advent, relax - and sing along yourself: Visitors to the Christmas market are once again cordially invited to the traditional Ecumenical Advent Carol Singing in the Liebfrauenkirche. Every day from 7.30 pm, festive Advent sounds can be heard from the popular church in Frankfurt's northern Old Town.Choirs and instrumental ensembles from the region perform. As a rule, two Advent songs are sung together with the visitors. The Capuchin monks based in Liebfrauen as well as full-time and voluntary staff from Frankfurt's city churches present the respective programs. District cantor and church musician Peter Reulein organizes the Ecumenical Advent Singing, which takes place on a total of 20 consecutive evenings. Admission is free.
This year, the Spiekeroog training choir will once again kick things off with a sing-along concert on Saturday, December 2. Many new spiritual songs will be presented and sung with the audience. The well-known songwriter Eugen Eckert (Frankfurt stadium pastor) will lead through the program.
Protestant, Catholic and secular choirs are represented in the program. The Frankfurt Wind School is also represented with its young artists on three evenings. Several music groups from parishes with other native languages can be heard in the "Concert of Cultures" on Saturday, December 9.
On the eve of the 3rd Advent (Sat., 16.12., 8 pm), the music ensembles of Liebfrauen invite you to a major concert event: The "Christmas Vespers" by Venetian composer Claudio Monteverdi can be experienced in its fantastic sonic splendor.
The series will once again conclude with the Christmas carol singing on the 2nd national holiday (26.12.). This is another opportunity to sing along to well-known festive melodies at the top of your lungs. There will be support with festive sounds for trumpets, organ and timpani.
