The "Christmas Garden" concept was a complete success in 2021, with around 1.9 million people visiting the Christmas light installations in Germany and numerous European cities. In addition, Christmas Garden Deutschland GmbH received the Live Entertainment Award (LEA) in the category "Best En Suite Event" in Frankfurt this year. Since the premiere in Frankfurt was also able to draw a positive conclusion, the Christmas Garden Frankfurt can be seen again in the Deutsche Bank Park since Friday, November 18, 2022.
Adapted energy concept
By 15. January 2023, the stadium grounds will be transformed into a fairytale sea of lights, a landscape full of breathtaking light shows, imaginative illuminated figures and dreamlike illuminations. The organizers are aware that such an event in the current situation can not only cause enthusiasm, but also criticism. For this reason, the Christmas Garden team has once again stepped up its efforts to keep power consumption as low as possible and to organize all events - including the one in Frankfurt, of course - in the most sustainable way possible. Thus, professional concepts were designed and numerous measures were taken for an environmentally and energy-conscious implementation to save electricity. These include, for example, the comprehensive switch to efficient, energy-saving LED technology for the lighting installations and pathway lighting, resulting in an 80 percent reduction in luminous flux compared to conventional light sources. In addition, there are shorter opening hours during the weekdays. These measures will reduce overall electricity consumption by an average of 30% at the vast majority of sites compared with previous years. Calculated down to the individual visit, as much electricity is needed as, for example, 1.5 hours to take up a streaming service in full HD or also as the one-time start-up of a standard coffee filter machine (1000 W, operation approx. 20 to 30 minutes).
Numerous innovations meet proven
.For the second edition of the Christmas Garden, Oliver Hoppe, Managing Director of FOH Rhein Main Concerts GmbH had promised some exciting changes compared to last year along the approximately two kilometer long circular route. After our tour, we can confirm that this promise was kept. We encountered some familiar motifs from the previous year, but there were also numerous innovations that were really beautifully implemented. For example, the sunbathing lawn of the stadium pool is transformed into a veritable sea of lights. One encounters a train that seems to drive across the square in front of the stadium and directly in front of the Eintracht living room there is the perfect selfie spot, as here the club logo has also been integrated as an installation in the circular route. Angels that seem to fly above the heads of visitors, a wonderful curtain of lights and a sea of glowing hearts are just some of the new highlights of the Christmas Garden Frankfurt.
The wonderful new light art, the colorful light installations and spectacular illuminated backdrops provide even more atmosphere than 2021. There's no question about it: when the Christmas Garden Frankfurt once again bathes the grounds of Deutsche Bank Park in a Christmas sea of splendor after sunset, it will amaze young and old alike. The implementation seems much more coherent, more comprehensive and more atmospheric than last year (where there were also some really nice installations to see). Also positive is that in addition to the Christmas village, where in addition to a carousel there are various food and drink stalls, there are also along the circular route some huts where you can pause and strengthen.
Jointly Christmas Garden Deutschland GmbH and Rhein Main Concerts, both companies of the DEAG Group, in cooperation with Eintracht Frankfurt Stadion GmbH and Bäderbetriebe Frankfurt organize this extraordinary event concept. From November 18, 2022 to January 15, 2023, the Christmas Garden Frankfurt invites visitors to discover and marvel under the open sky almost daily from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (The Christmas Garden Frankfurt is closed on the 21st. & 22. and 28. & 29. November as well as on 24. & 31. December 2022).
