In the past few days, very unpleasant news came from the Frankfurt Zoo. Unknown persons have thrown stones into the recently newly opened penguin enclosure and have thus taken the risk of injuring animals. The large glass pane in the grotto, through which visitors can watch the Humboldt penguins dive and swim, was also wantonly damaged, resulting in a barrier being erected. That the visitors, which was actually intended with the construction of the grotto, can be very close to the animals, is now no longer possible because of a few vandals.
About such behavior, one can actually only be upset. In order to set a positive sign against this, the city councillor Thomas Bäppler-Wolf has today taken over a sponsorship for a Humboldt penguin in the Frankfurt Zoo.
That Thomas Bäppler wolf, many Frankfurt also as Bäppi La Belle admits, a sponsorship wanted to take over stood already some time firmly, he had to pay nevertheless already 500, - to the zoological society as punishment from the process around Carl-Phillip Solms to Wildenfels. The current reporting and personal conversations with employees about the vandalism occurring in recent times have now led to Bäppler-Wolf finally put his plan into action. "We politicians have to set a good example," said the city councillor when asked.
In typical Bäppi fashion, which his fans love so much about him, he added that he had also heard that Carl-Phillip Solms zu Wildenfels had also taken on a sponsorship with his party. For the city councillor, it is thus clear that he has an important mission to fulfil: "We have to stand up to this. It cannot be that the racecourse count makes now race penguins from the poor animals", so Bäppler wolf. His new godchild will thank him!
