The Rhine-Main area could soon be richer by a top-class sporting attraction. As reported by several media outlets such as HitRadio FFH, the "Boris Becker International Academy" is to be built in Hochheim am Main on 48,000 square meters. The tennis academy for young people from the age of 14 is to make Hochheim the German tennis capital. Together with the tennis legend, the real estate entrepreneur Khaled Ezzedine has big plans: on the site in a former industrial estate, in addition to a hotel, a restaurant, a museum, a pro shop, an indoor swimming pool and several outdoor courts, the largest indoor tennis hall in the world with 21 courts is to be built.
The focus of the tennis academy will be on working with young talent. As such, a boarding school for nearly 300 children is also reportedly planned. The 20-million-euro project is reportedly already close to the start of construction. The concrete plans are to be announced at a press conference at the beginning of November, shortly before the Hochheim market. The target is to open in 2021.
