Brrrrrrr! Even though the sun shone for a long time on Good Friday, you can't really talk about spring-like temperatures yet. Nevertheless, Freibad Hausen kept to the tradition of opening the outdoor season in Frankfurt's outdoor pools on this holiday. The gates opened at 6.30 a.m. for the particularly loyal and brave bathers. The early hour is welcome, because traditionally the influx of guests on the first outdoor pool day of the season is usually very large. And that was also the case again this year - despite the cold. In fact, small queues formed at the ticket office on the first day.
The team around pool manager Anette Hamel gave everything to complete all winterization work in time despite frosty spring weather and to prepare the outdoor pool ready for operation until Good Friday. For this, a big compliment and thank you goes from managing director Frank Müller to the Hausen colleagues. 26 degrees water temperature in the pools awaited the first guests on Good Friday. And those who also dare to go into the water in the next few days and feel like it, can look for many colorful Easter eggs on the grounds on Easter Sunday.
Also City Councillor Markus Frank is pleased about the opening of the Hausen outdoor pool: "The Hausen outdoor pool is a very special bathing pearl in our city of Frankfurt, because here the first heated outdoor pool opens its doors in the year for the Frankfurt swimming friends. Many regular guests visit the popular neighbourhood pool throughout the year, which, along with the Silobad and the Bergen-Enkheimer Riedbad, belongs to the group of heated outdoor pools in the sports city of Frankfurt. With the opening of the open-air pool in spring, we are offering Frankfurt's swimming community an attractive range of opportunities for sports and recreation. I wish the Hausen open-air pool all the best for the start and a successful 2018 season." So: Nix out to the Hausen open-air pool and off into the warm water!
