VGF team climbs onto the winner's podium at European Tram Championships
(kus) Summer, sun, trams - the now sixth European Tram Championships, the European championship for tram drivers, was held last weekend on the sunny island of Tenerife.
The VGF team took part and faced the European competition with great success, making it onto the winners' podium. The team, consisting of Sandra Kuhn and Thilo Korbien, took third place overall; in the men's individual classification, Thilo Korbien even took second place.
The disciplines once again included the popular tram bowling, in which the teams use their tram to knock a large ball onto giant plastic cones.
Kuhn and Korbien had prevailed in an internal VGF preliminary competition in late April and, accompanied by team coach Patrick Keil, flew to Santa Cruz, the site of the competition.
