Santa Claus is almost on the doorstep: on Saturday, November 23, the traditional Christmas market will take place at the StadtWaldHaus information center and the Fasanerie. From 12 noon to 5 p.m., children and adults can get in the mood for Christmas and buy their first presents at the StadtWaldHaus bazaar.
In what is now the 17th edition of the Christmas market, a varied program awaits all friends of the pre-Christmas season. There will be various information stands on the subject of the forest both in the house and on the grounds of the Fasanerie. Employees of the StadtForst will be demonstrating their artistic skills with the chainsaw and the resulting wooden works of art will be on sale.
At 3 p.m., things will get musical when the hunting horns of the independent brass band "Bläserfreunde Schrot & Horn" under the direction of brass band chairman Maximilian Lust will be playing. At 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., the animal keeper of the pheasantry will present fosterlings and other animal inhabitants of the StadtWaldHaus.
Bake bread or go to the oak tree - but please don't forget your punch cup!
Younger guests can make their own Santa Clauses, while children with a head for heights can put on a climbing harness and climb a large oak tree. Those who prefer a cozy atmosphere can bake bread on a stick around the campfire.
Food and drink stands are of course also available at the Christmas market in the city forest. However, guests are asked to bring their own cup for mulled wine or children's punch.
The forest store opens at 9 am. Frankfurt game meat and other regional products are available there. The Fasanerie and the StadtWaldHaus open at 12 noon.
Eintracht plays in the city forest: The best way to get there is by streetcar to Oberschweinstiege
You are advised to travel by bike or take streetcar line 17 in the direction of Neu-Isenburg to the Oberschweinstiege stop. The approximately ten-minute walk to the StadtWaldHaus is signposted from the stop. Direct access to the StadtWaldHaus by car is not possible; there are a very limited number of parking spaces on Isenburger Schneise. As Eintracht Frankfurt will be playing a Bundesliga home game against Werder Bremen in the Stadtwald at the same time on Saturday, November 23, the large parking lot is reserved for soccer fans and therefore subject to a charge.
Registration for the Christmas market is not required, admission is free. Alle weiteren Infos gibt es unter stadtwaldhaus-frankfurt.de and by telephone at 069/212-73322.
