Last year, the small but fine Christmas market on Paradiesplatz in Alt-Sachsenhausen celebrated its successful debut. People came together here in a homely atmosphere, creating an atmospheric contrast to the party scene located here. After the successful premiere, the second edition of this beautiful market opened today. A total of 15 stalls with a colorful culinary offer, partly from the neighborhood's resident catering businesses, gift items (including from the Eintracht shop), a children's carousel, the already legendary Bembel crib after one year, as well as a small petting zoo await visitors.
In addition to the offers that have already proven themselves in the first year, the Christmas market in Alt-Sachsenhausen 2016 also offers a few innovations. For example, every Tuesday is Children's Day. This means that there are discounted rides on the carousel and that the children's punch costs only one euro. In addition, St. Nicholas stops by on Tuesdays to hand out small gifts to the children. At yesterday's opening, he received prominent support from Eintracht player Johannes Flum, whose presence also made many a dad very happy.
And then there's December 18, when the organizers are hosting a big "pack singing" event. Choirs and individuals are invited to sing Christmas carols together. Donations will be collected for the association Hilfe für krebskranke Kinder (Help for Children with Cancer). Local celebrities have also announced themselves for this: the subway controllers in frozen women's dresses want to support this very special choir event with their presence, as well as Bäppi La Belle.
Whether it's Children's Day, pack singing, after work or on the weekend - a visit to the Christmas market in Alt-Sachsenhausen is definitely worthwhile!
