It's Christmas at Opernplatz. Here CityXmas organizer Jasmin Ziegler has concluded a festive cooperation with GIBSON managing director Bastian Bernhagen. He had organized the Gibson Beach Club OP2 on the area at Opernplatz in the last two summers. The owner of the area, SIGNA Real Estate, has made the area available to the GIBSON operators until the end of the year. And so the CityXmas and the Gibson can now ring in the Christmas season in Frankfurt here together.
On Friday, October 28, Frankfurt's first Christmas market opened on the grounds of the Beach Club - given the late summer temperatures of over 20 degrees, the location could not be more aptly chosen. But even if the weather is still anything but Christmassy, CityXmas once again succeeds in spreading the right mood at this location. In the shadow of the skyscrapers of Frankfurt's city center, a very special Christmas atmosphere is created. On the 3500sqm area, twelve festively decorated huts will serve and serve all kinds of tasty treats. Some familiar names from previous years will be there, but also some suppliers who are celebrating their CityXmas premiere this year. For example, the team from GOOSE Gourmet. The event caterers offer sweet and savory waffles. Whether with spicy pulled beef or rather with sweet cinnamon cream, pear and popcorn, the waffles from GOOSE are really a treat and a real addition to the market.
Also new at the start is Luca Cinelli, who caused a stir in 2016 with his Ice Cream Rolls in the MyZeil shopping center. He still makes ice cream, but at the CityXmas Christmas market he offers tarte flambée in different variations. In addition to the classic "Alsatian style," there are also variations with salmon and shrimp or with fennel salsiccia and Parmesan. Also a sweet variant with apples, raisins, cinnamon and sugar, as well as a "Vegi Flammkuchen" with leeks, spring onions, Crema Balsamico and pine nuts has Luca Cinelli in the offer.
The team from the crêpes stand, which can be found right next to the entrance, was also present in previous years and is pleased to now be able to offer their sweet and savory crêpes in such an attractive location. Whether simple with cinnamon and sugar or with chocolate cream and various toppings such as strawberries, Oreo cookies or vanilla sauce, or savory with cheese and ham, here actually every crêpes fan comes at his expense. In addition, the CityXmas also has soups, poké bowls, delicious grilled food, pasta, cevapcici or langos on offer. Hungry really no one must leave the market.
Naturally, there is also mulled wine in different varieties - from vintner mulled wine to Asian mulled wine to hot Äppler. And at the large beverage stand of the GIBSON there are besides mulled wine and non-alcoholic beverages also delicious cocktails. Every evening, a GIBSON DJ will provide the atmospheric background music for the market hustle and bustle. In the first days this new CityXmas market was already very well accepted. The cooperation between Jasmin Ziegler's special Christmas market concept and the GIBSON Club can therefore already be considered a success. Just take a look!
