Dates for Christmas tree disposal 2024

Where to put the Christmas tree when it has had its day? This is a question that Frankfurters are faced with after Christmas. Frankfurter Entsorgungs- und Service GmbH (FES) is once again offering two disposal options.

Option 1: As before, the Christmas tree can be disposed of in the brown organic waste garbage can during the month of January. The prerequisite is that the trees are free of all decorations and shortened to pieces of no more than one meter.

Variant 2: the collection tour with fixed dates in individual districts. Between Monday, January 8 and Friday, January 26, a special vehicle will be used to collect Christmas trees only. Citizens simply place the trees at the boundary of their property on collection day. It is important that the tree is clearly visible and can be easily reached by the collection vehicle. Here, too, the trees should be decorated and shortened to pieces of no more than one meter.

The border between Sachsenhausen South and North runs along Offenbacher Landstraße and Mörfelder Landstraße. Mörfelder Landstraße: even house numbers to Sachsenhausen North, odd house numbers to Sachsenhausen South. Offenbacher Landstraße: even house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Süd, odd house numbers to Sachsenhausen-Nord.

There are no separate dates in the Bahnhofsviertel and in the old and inner city, because the street cleaning service is on duty there every day and takes away the Christmas trees.

Of course, Christmas trees can also be handed in free of charge at RMB Rhein-Main Biokompost in Osthafen or as part of the car trunk service at the FES recycling centers.

FES hopes that the combination of options will speed up the removal of the estimated 80,000 Christmas trees, around three quarters of which are composted. Nevertheless, it remains a logistical challenge. FES asks for your understanding if trees lying around can be seen in the cityscape for a few days.

The schedule for the Christmas tree truck is also available online at fes-frankfurt.de abrufbar.
