Designparcours: On the weekend, creative people move to Höchst

(kus) On the 1st Advent weekend - from 26 to 27 November - 58 artists and designers will move into empty commercial spaces at the 9th Höchster Designparcours. Head of the Planning Department Mike Josef will open the Design Parcours on Saturday, November 26, at 12 o'clock in Bolongarostraße 117 together with Monika Fontaine-Kretschmer, Managing Director of the Nassauische Heimstätte/Wohnstadt Group. Also present: Oliver Schwebel, Managing Director of the Frankfurt Economic Development Corporation, and Jakob Sturm from Radar, the vacancy agency of the City of Frankfurt.

At the 9th Designparcours, renowned artists from the region will once again meet and demonstrate the great potential of the designer scene in the Rhine-Main region. The high level of participation is also reflected in a varied range of products. Whether fashion, jewellery, accessories, furniture, art or ceramics: a new surprise awaits visitors at every stand. Many creatives rely on recycled materials for their works. "re-cover.de", for example, conjures up covers for notebooks from former favourite shirts and "Cartilo" creates Christmas angels and necklaces from empty coffee capsules. Also present: "O & Ach - hessisch handmade" with T-shirts, "Betonstück" with unusual works of art, "Mexx'Sketches" with large-format paintings and "Tchakka Tchakka" with the self-developed drum instrument Kazoojon.

Again this year, visitors can win shopping vouchers worth 50 euros, redeemable at the exhibitors on site. All they have to do is have their participant card stamped at all the stations on the trail.

Social Media Walk and Christmas Spirit

For the first time, the Social Media Walk #hoechstdesignsmcffm will take place on Saturday, 26 November, jointly initiated by Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt (TCF) and the Social Media Club Frankfurt (#smcffm). After a visit to the Design Parcours, participants can expect a guided tour of Höchst's old town followed by a detour to the Christmas market. As places are limited, interested parties must apply by emailing <link>socialmediaclubfrankfurt@gmail.com by 25 November.

For the past three years, the neighborhood management of NH ProjektStadt has been setting luminous accents at various locations in Höchst at Christmas time. Whether colorful light projections on the bunker at the train station, window illuminations over two floors in the current citizens' office or glittering Christmas trees on the island in the Dalbergkreisel. To ensure that these continue to shine, a competition was announced. All local creative people, artists, associations, initiatives and schools were invited to apply. The winner was Tanja Huckenbeck from the artist label "höchst*schön". In order to be able to realize her proposal, she received a budget of 600 euros. Her Christmas installation on the island in the Dalbergkreisel will light up for the first time on November 26 at 11.30 a.m.
