After having to give up its old location on Hanauer Landstraße in 2018, the DIALOGMUSEUM was supposed to celebrate its opening in its new premises on the B-level of the Hauptwache last year. However, as is well known, the Corona pandemic threw a spanner in the works. The premises have long since been renovated for the new Dialog im Dunkeln, but the doors had to remain closed. But now there is finally some good news: The date for the reopening of the DIALOGMUSEUM at its new, much more central location has been set!
On September 09, things are finally set to get underway! Then, after a year of renovations and a year's delay due to the pandemic, the doors will finally open - under strict hygiene regulations, of course. Klara Kletzka, founder and managing director, announces the good news in the museum's newsletter with the words: "Finally! After months of social abstinence and distance, it will once again be possible to go on a journey of discovery with all your senses and experience inclusion directly."
So you can already look forward to the new rooms and themes in the "Dialogue in the Dark". The idea for this special sensory experience was developed back in 1988 by Prof. Dr. Andreas Heinecke during his work for the Foundation for the Blind in Frankfurt. Visitors can expect a tour through an exhibition in complete darkness, which puts them in different everyday situations. Guided by a blind guide, visitors must rely entirely on their other senses in the experience rooms, which are made tangible through scents, sounds, textures and authentic props. There is no question about it: in the new DIALOGMUSEUM, this journey through the darkness will also be a surprising, impressive and fascinating experience.
Tickets for a visit to the museum as well as reservations for school classes and groups will be available for booking as early as mid-July 2021 at www.dialogmuseum.de. Vouchers of value are always available on the home page. We look forward to the reopening of this very special museum!
