On Wednesday, 9 October, the Historisches Museum Frankfurt is hosting a digitization workshop. As part of the exhibition "Zeitzeugenschaft? A Memory Lab", outdated VHS and audio cassettes and other storage media can be digitized from 18:30 in order to preserve valuable interviews and conversations with contemporary witnesses.
The event, conceived by Valentin Herleth, a student of film culture at Goethe University, begins at 16:00 with insights into various contemporary witness contributions. These include works such as the contribution by Giuseppe Bruno, a guest worker from Sicily, and an interview with Peter Bloch about his emigration to New York.
The exhibition will run until 4 May 2025. Admission costs eight euros, concessions four euros.
