Family festival 'Wind and Energy in the GreenBelt' on October 13 on Frankfurt's Heiligenstock

On Sunday, October 13, the big GreenBelt Wind Festival for the whole family will take place on the Heiligenstock. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., "Environmental Learning in Frankfurt" offers a varied program on the topic of wind and renewable energies.

At the 20th Wind Festival in Frankfurt's GrünGürtel, visitors of all ages can make kites, wind turbines and parachutes, experiment with wind generators and measuring devices or fly super-light balsa planes, among other things. There is also the opportunity to discover intelligent energy use on the SmartGrid or create mobiles from natural materials.

The Wind Festival is part of the city's educational programme "Discovering, Researching and Learning in Frankfurt's GreenBelt" and is organized by the Environmental Agency, the City Schools Department, the Parks Department and the Environmental Learning Association in Frankfurt.

How to get there: The Heiligenstock can be reached via the GrünGürtel cycle path and is signposted from the Altes Zollhaus inn and the Heiligenstock/Lohrberg bus stop (line 30). There are no parking facilities on site, but parking spaces are available at Lohrberg and at Heilsberg cemetery. From there, the walk takes about 20 minutes.
