First film culture guide for Frankfurt and Rhine-Main published

With the new information brochure "Filmkultur in Frankfurt & Rhein-Main", the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt presents a comprehensive overview of the region's cinematographic offerings for the first time. On 128 pages, the publication presents a wide range of film offerings - from cinemas and film festivals to museums and film workshops. The brochure is now available free of charge in all cinemas, cultural institutions and at central information points such as the Tourist Information at the Römer. It can also be downloaded from kultur-frankfurt.de/filmguide and will remain current until the end of 2027.

"Frankfurt's film culture is as lively as it is diverse - you regularly have the choice of attending a new film, a film festival or an inspiring film series", emphasized Ina Hartwig, Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Frankfurt. She praised the wide range of local cinemas and cultural institutions and invited film enthusiasts and families to discover the region's multifaceted world of film.

The bilingual publication in German and English is divided into nine chapters and offers information on cinemas, open-air screenings, film series, museums and events for young audiences, among other things. Practical information on workshops and networks as well as archives and media resources complete the overview. QR codes in the brochure allow direct access to the current programs of the listed institutions. A city map and a film festival calendar for Frankfurt round off the offer.

Anna Schoeppe, Managing Director of Hessen Film & Medien, praised the diversity of film culture in the region: "Our film culture thrives on creative locations, extraordinary film programs and international festivals. This brochure offers a compact overview that makes the broad spectrum of film culture in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region accessible."

The brochure is published by the Kulturamt Frankfurt am Main in cooperation with Hessen Film & Medien. A new edition is planned every three years. The print version can be requested free of charge by e-mail or telephone.
