Actually, the team around Michael Quast had been looking forward to being able to start the first season of the Fliegende Volksbühne in the premises of the newly built Cantate Hall in September 2019. But a few weeks ago came the bad news: mold infestation! So the start of the season had to be postponed for the time being. And now it is unfortunately clear: 2019 there will be no performances in the new Volksbühne in the Große Hirschgraben.
Although the mold infestation could be successfully fought, which is definitely very positive news. However, the resulting time delays are now so great that the remaining work, especially the technical installations and the inspection and acceptance by the building authorities, cannot be finally completed by the end of the year.
For all those who have already bought tickets, these can be returned.
After all, four performances could be moved to other venues. Tickets already purchased for these will remain valid. These performances are:
STOLTZE FOR ALL! Substitute venue: Kellertheater Frankfurt, September 26, 2019, 7:30 pm
What a Parisian Life! A birthday soirée for Jacques Offenbach!
Substitute venue: Deutsches Ledermuseum, Offenbach, October 26, 2019, 7.30 Uhr
GOETHE: FAUST I, replacement venue: Theater Alte Brücke, 29 Septemer 2019, 6 Uhr
HOFFMANNS ERZÄHLUNGEN À TROIS, replacement venue: Naxoshalle, October 25, 2019, 7:30 p.m.
A new opening date for the Volksbühne is to be set before the end of September in consultation with ABG and the Department of Culture. We keep you there of course up to date.
