On Friday, August 16, 2019, between 3:00 and 10:00 p.m., there will be one more big feast at Food Truck Friday around the pond in front of the Jahrhunderthalle for the penultimate time this season. And if the weather plays along, maybe even a week after the end of the holiday season there will be a real holiday feeling. In any case, one thing is already clear: no one has to go home hungry here. Because this time, the most food trucks since the start of the popular event series are coming to the site, including a very special eye-catcher: the largest food truck in the world!
With a total weight of 40 tons, 600 horsepower and a length of 16.50m, the Event Warrior brings hearty delicacies on 6 axles. Besides Trucker Spit, Dry Aged Steak or Jalapeno Griller (extra hot, only available for 18 years and older), not only the culinary heart will surely go up here, but also that of those with diesel in their blood. On the extended viewing terrace of the Truck Monster you can feast, chill and keep an eye out for the next truck on the agenda.
Total of 40 food trucks will be at the start. It's certainly hard to decide which culinary delights to satisfy your hunger with. Maybe with something really unusual: Dr. Bob´s insect kitchen! The Land Rover Defender converted into a food truck - the quintessential wilderness vehicle - has on offer, among other things, a mix plate of deep-fried grasshoppers, roasted mealworms and buffalo worms on fresh lime with sea salt and various dips. Yummy!
A food truck Friday newcomer is Ti´Arepas. Arepas are round corn patties from Venezuela. A dough is kneaded from cornmeal, pressed together into a patty and fried on both sides. This is then filled with various delicacies.
Kamekona´s Shrimp Truck delivers what the name promises. The ex US Airforce vehicle from the TV series HAWAII Five-O serves up shrimp in a variety of delicious bowls.
Also back in August are the charming Waffle Sisters, Anzah Nomads, Big Hungary, Bullys Burger, Eat me Drink me, Kitchen Steam, Von Erdapfel and many, many more. For the perfect start to the weekend, there will once again be balloon artists and face painting for the little ones and the cocktail bar, wine stands, Braustübl bars and chill out sound for the grown-ups.
