For a short time only: Frankfurt has a 'German Museum for Black Entertainment and Black Music'

Frankfurt has a new museum - at least for a few days! The "German Museum for Black Entertainment and Black Music" (DMSUBM) has been built in the Museum Angewandte Kunst in cooperation with the Mousonturm. Until September 3, Germany's leading museum for black culture, popular music and history is thus a guest in the metropolis on the Main. It houses an extensive archive of records, magazines, autographs and memorabilia, which are exhibited in a lively place of mediation and discussion of black history and accompanied by an ongoing program.

You can explore the museum in guided tours. In doing so, you'll immerse yourself in a movement that gathers stars from Mola Adebisi to Tic Tac Toe to Sydney Youngblood. In their juxtaposition, they gain a new visibility, revealing similarities and differences in their productions, strategies and attributions.

DMSUBM will also feature a supporting program of tours and various events. In recitals, listening sessions, talks and other formats, experts will work through the museum's archive and provide insights into various issues.
