Many have the feeling - and often not entirely unjustified - that politics no longer listens to the needs of citizens. The city of Frankfurt has now launched a campaign to counter this feeling, calling on all citizens to take an active part in shaping the city. Mayor and City Treasurer Uwe Becker presented the campaign, which has the motto "I want . Taking part is designed to be very simple: Those who have registered can create suggestions, collect supporters for them and support other ideas themselves. But even those who do not want to register can still participate: after depositing the e-mail address, you can rate other proposals and thus still express your opinion. If at least 200 supporters are found eight weeks after the Internet publication, the suggestion is examined by the responsible department. Subsequently, a decision is made on the implementation or rejection of the proposals. Proposals can be submitted and supported via app, online on the website http://www.ffm.de as well as by mail, fax or phone.
"Everyone can participate regardless of age. Children and young people's ideas of their city are also welcome. They often see things from a different perspective and can certainly give us exciting insights and good suggestions," Becker emphasizes.
On the participation portal http://www.ffm.de, residents will find other participation formats in addition to "Frankfurt asks me", such as a deficiency report, but also online citizen consultation hours and idea competitions.
