Whatever you call them, one thing is indisputable: the Wasserhäuschen are as much a part of Frankfurt and its surroundings as the Ginnheimer Spargel, the Zeil or the Grüne Soße. Even though more and more of the little shops have had to close down in recent years, there are still numerous Büdchen of all kinds in Frankfurt and the surrounding area, which are sometimes used in a very traditional way, or in an original way. It is nice that this tradition is maintained, because Trinkhallen simply belong to the cityscape, are a self-image that many often no longer even notice.
To honor this Frankfurt cultural asset, the organization <link https: l-11.de _blank>LINIE 11 and allesgude.de, who are working hard to preserve and revive the water house culture in Frankfurt, are planning the 1st Frankfurt Water House Day. On August 19, there will be great events and festivities around as many water huts as possible, celebrating not only the water huts but also their operators. Whether music, exhibitions by local artists, readings or sports tournaments - the main thing is to celebrate together around a Water Cottage.
