The Goetheturm, one of Frankfurt's landmarks, is not expected to be open to visitors again this year until Wednesday, May 1. The opening was originally planned for April 1.
The reason for the delay is urgently needed maintenance work on the tower's foundations. Routine inspections are carried out annually in spring before the regular opening to repair any damage caused by the winter weather. This year, more extensive defects have arisen that need to be rectified in April.
The city regrets the delay and the associated inconvenience. However, the safety of visitors has top priority. It is therefore unavoidable to carry out the maintenance work before the tower reopens.
As soon as the exact date for the reopening of the Goetheturm has been set, the Parks Department will announce this in a separate press release.
