It is one of the largest folk festivals in the region and with up to 500,000 visitors one of the largest autumn markets in Germany: the Hochheimer Markt. In 2020, the festival had to be completely canceled; in 2021, it was at least possible to offer a smaller alternative with the Hochheim Autumn, to which around 30,000 people came to Hochheim. In view of the still very high infection figures and a further increase in numbers forecast for the autumn, there was a long discussion about whether this alternative would also be offered in 2022. But now the city of Hochheim has decided: The Hochheim market will take place in 2022 in its classic form.
After a two-year forced break, the city of Hochheim am Main is now heading resolutely and with great anticipation towards the comeback of the regular Hochheim market. From November 4 to 8, 2022, it will once again be possible to celebrate, feast and browse. It is this special mixture of folk festival, fair and fair, which makes this event so unique throughout Germany and attracts not only people from Hochheim, but far beyond the city limits.
And who has ever visited the Hochheim market, knows that even a longer journey is worthwhile. Because the offer on the seven hectares of market area is gigantic: One finds everything approximately around the garden, spare time and household. Spices, household appliances, fireplaces - you can really find everything at the 400 or so Krammarkt dealers! In addition, there are 60 wine and mulled wine stands, a large marquee, numerous catering stands, rides and and and. It is a versatile and colorful market for the whole family - and that has tradition: the market exists in modified form since 1484 and thus for more than 500 years.
