Hr shoots Tatort in Frankfurt with Ulrich Tukur in a double role

It's TATORT time again in Frankfurt. However, it is not the Frankfurt investigative team that is currently in front of the camera in the Main metropolis, but their colleague Felix Murot from the LKA. And his ninth case will be a special challenge for Murot's actor Ulrich Tukur, who will play a double role this time. Hessischer Rundfunk (hr) is filming the new TATORT under the working title "Die Ferien des Monsieur Murot" in Frankfurt, Königstein and the surrounding area until June 12.The film is directed by Grzegorz Muskala, who also wrote the script together with Ben Braeunlich.

And that's what the ninth Murot episode is about: Felix Murot (Ulrich Tukur) has barely arrived on holiday and is enjoying a glass of wine in the garden of the local restaurant when the irritable waitress slams a knuckle of pork on his table that he didn't order. She mistakes him for Walter Boenfeld (also Ulrich Tukur), a married used car salesman sitting at the other end of the restaurant garden waiting in vain for his meal. Murot sets out to find the actual owner of the shank, and in doing so meets Walter, who is a dead ringer for him. Inspired by this curious encounter, the two disparate gentlemen spend the evening together, drinking too much and talking about life over a sauna session. When Murot wakes up the next day hungover on Walter's Hollywood swing - and, thanks to a drunken swap, dressed in his doppelganger's clothes - the detective finds that Walter was killed while still on the country road that night. Was it his wife Monika (Anne Ratte-Polle), who Walter had claimed was trying to kill him last night? So Murot decides to leave his everyday life as a detective behind temporarily, to dive into the life of his twin and to investigate undercover. In the process, Murot falls increasingly in love with the idea of leaving his old life behind. But Magda Wächter (Barbara Philipp) isn't going to let her boss off that easily.

Whoever saw Murot's last TATORT in wonderfully macabre "Und täglich greüßt das Murmeltier" style knows that no ordinary TV thriller should be expected here. It will be interesting to see what twists and turns this twin story will take. However, it is not expected to be broadcast until 2020. Then, in addition to Ulrich Tukur, Barbara Philipp and in other roles Thorsten Merten, Julika Jenkins, Michael Hanemann, Moritz Führmann and Lena Kalisch can be seen. Carol Burandt von Kameke (camera), Manfred Döring (production design), Christian Mathias (sound), Stefan Blau (editing), Monika Gebauer (costume design) and Nathalie Mischel (casting) are responsible for the realisation of the material. Production management is by Ulrich Dautel, editing is by Jörg Himstedt and Erin Högerle.
