Incidence above 100: Tightening of Corona rules in Frankfurt

01.09.2021 | 14:40 Clock | Service

It was unfortunately foreseeable: since a few days the incidence value in Frankfurt is again above 100, whereby the infection incidence is still diffuse and not due to major outbreaks. Infections continue to be mainly due to transmission in the private sphere and in the domestic environment. Around 100 cases per calendar week are currently attributable to travelers returning home. For the greater part of the cases, however, the place of infection remains unclear. As expected, the occupancy of hospital intensive care beds with Covid-19 sufferers is also rising again along with the case numbers.

In order to counteract this, tighter restrictions are again in force in Frankfurt from today, Wednesday, September 1, in accordance with the Hessian prevention and escalation concept, including in the areas of gastronomy, events and culture. These regulations, which go beyond the provisions of the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance of the State of Hesse, are ordered by the eighth general order of the City of Frankfurt am Main.

Tightened regulations will then apply in the following areas, according to the general order:

meetings, trade shows, events, and cultural offerings, such as theaters, operas, movie theaters, and concerts (including private parties held in public or specially rented space)

a) with more than 25 persons (including vaccinated and convalescent persons): Are permitted (indoors max. 100 and outdoors max. 200)

b) with higher number of participants: (if the competent authority exceptionally allows a higher number of participants while ensuring continuous monitoring of compliance with the other requirements;

c) vaccinated or recovered persons shall be included in the participant limit of 100 or 200 not included

c) for admission to cultural or leisure facilities as well as sports facilities also outdoors (in particular gyms, indoor swimming pools, saunas, sports halls, zoos, botanical gardens and amusement parks, museums, galleries as well as memorials); but not for competitive and elite sports;

d) for admission to casinos, gambling halls and similar establishments as well as for staying in betting agencies;

e) for admission to public areas of gastronomy, including outdoor gastronomy (with the exception of employees in company canteens);

f) also in the case of longer stays (hotels and overnight stays) and twice per week of stay or

(g) when using body-related services

negative evidence (3 G+ - vaccinated, recovered, negative PCR test) required beyond that:

a) for admission to dance halls, discotheques, clubs and similar outdoor establishments or

(b) to enter places of prostitution or similar establishments, prostitution vehicles, or prostitution events

Mask requirement:

A medical mask (surgical mask or protective mask of the standards FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable, each without exhalation valve) is to be worn:

a) in all crowding situations where the minimum distance of 1.5 metres cannot be safely maintained. This can be the case, for example, when entering retail outlets, in queues, at public transport stops, during public performances (e.g. in pedestrian zones) or in similar situations. in pedestrian zones) or in similar comparable situations,

b) in school buildings and buildings of other educational institutions also at the seats or

c) in community facilities where infants, children or youth are predominantly cared for with the exception of persons in care.

A protective mask of the standards FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable (in each case without an exhalation valve) must be worn:

a) in facilities for the care and accommodation of elderly persons and persons in need of care by the staff working there, unless they are vaccinated or convalescent persons or

b) during the provision of body-related services by clients as well as staff. For children and adolescents under 16 years of age, a surgical mask is sufficient.

In addition, the provisions of the current Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of Hesse apply.

If the incidence falls below 100 for five consecutive days, the lifting of the general order will be considered immediately.

For the following areas, no tightening according to the escalation concept in the general order of the city of Frankfurt will be specified for the time being:

- no aggravations for wholesale and retail

- no tightening in public transport

- for the time being no tightening of contact possibilities in public spaces

The health department continues to appeal to all Frankfurt residents to adhere to the AHA-L rules and to take advantage of the low-threshold vaccination offers.

At the Immunization Center in Festhalle, anyone age twelve and older, regardless of where they live, can come in daily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. for vaccinations without an appointment. In addition, special vaccination events continue to be held around town. For more information, visit frankfurt.de/service-and-city-hall/administration
