About two years ago, the Poké restaurant Kahuna Poké Bros opened on Hanauer Landstraße. We told you about it in detail HERE. Guests were quickly won over by this healthy food trend, which has also conquered European metropolises from Hawaii to New York. So there was really no question of bringing this successful concept to the city centre. But first of all, of course, a suitable location had to be found. And that was the most difficult task of this expansion, reveals co-founder Wlassios Kordonias. Numerous locations were looked at and with some even already plans for the conversion were made, but in the end was simply not the right with it.
Then came the offer to move into the premises of a former copy shop in the Kirchnerstraße. And although this first had to be completely rebuilt, this offer proved to be too ideal to turn down. And although the team was busy with the opening of the branch in the Main-Tanus-Zentrum, they managed to transform the copy shop into a location in no time, which is not as spacious as its big brother on Hanauer Landstraße, but which perfectly reflects the concept of Kahuna Poké Bros in terms of charm and atmosphere.
The offer is a little reduced compared to the larger location in the Ostend. They've limited themselves to favorites here at Poké but that doesn't change one thing at all: the excellent taste of the bowls. In addition to tuna, salmon, hula chicken or the delicious Gangnam Style Beef, there are of course two very tasty vegan Pokés on offer, which are placed on sushi rice, brown rice, quinoa or on vegetables. Various toppings like kimchi, coleslaw, edamame or mango salsa can be chosen to go with it. On top of that, crunch like sprouts, fried onions or veggie crisps are added before the bowl is then topped off with the appropriate sauce like wasabi mayo or teriyaki. From the first bite, it's clear how much emphasis has been placed on the freshness of the ingredients and their quality. Just unbelievably good!
This now third location for the Kahuna Poké Bros, which held its grand opening last weekend, seems a bit out of the way at first glance. But appearances are deceiving. Not only has Kirchnerstraße been enlivened for some by attractive venues such as Bunca Café and Embury Bar. Walk-in customers are also not to be underestimated here, amidst the bank towers. What's more, the attractive opening hours mean that people can not only grab a bite to eat before work and on their lunch break, but also stop in at the restaurant during a stroll around town or after work and treat themselves to a "Bowl of Happiness". Stop by too - it's worth it!
