Just in time for St. Nicholas, Frankfurt's shopping mile Zeil is one attraction richer. The Swiss chocolate specialist Läderach has opened a new branch here, so now the people of Frankfurt can also enjoy the legendary "Frisch Schoggi". These are large slabs of chocolate that are broken directly at the fresh counter and then sold by weight. Chocolate lovers can choose from 22 varieties - not counting seasonal creations. There's bound to be something for everyone.
The fact that Frankfurt is getting a Läderach branch was actually obvious, because after all, the production site in Dillenburg in central Hesse, where the delicacies are made alongside the two Swiss production sites in Bilten and Ennenda, is virtually around the corner. The couverture is produced in Switzerland itself. René Rechsteiner, Director Retail Switzerland & Germany, highlights this as one of the special characteristics of Läderach's chocolaty delights: "This means we are one of the few premium suppliers that can guarantee consistently sustainable quality - from the cocoa bean to the finished end product."
In addition to the "Frisch Schoggi", the chocolaterie also offers delicious "Mini-Mousses " with delicate egg white foam, crisp chocolate and a fine aroma drop, as well as a good selection of Grand Cru chocolates, Pralinés, truffles and confectionery specialities. Opening for St. Nicholas is also a good time, as there are some very special creations for Christmas, which of course can also be purchased at the new Frankfurt store. With delicately layered fir trees made of gianduja, a fairytale selection of chocolates in a wooden box or refreshing Bâtons with tangerine or coconut on a crispy base, you'll find the perfect gift for all chocoholics here.
To celebrate the opening, there were deliciously tender surprises handed out by "Samichlaus," as Santa Claus is known in Switzerland. And as the chocolate melts in your mouth, one thing becomes quite clear: even if it's not the first chocolaterie in Frankfurt's city centre, Läderach is a really nice addition for all lovers of high-quality chocolate creations.
