Local Heroes - Frankfurt says THANK YOU to the silent heroes of everyday life

What would not have been celebrated this summer: Mainfest, Opernplatzfest, Museumsuferfest, Berger Straßenfest - all cancelled. And there should have been a big TAB event again, too. But a big open-air event on Taunusstraße, like the ones in previous years, is simply not feasible in 2020. But TAB e.V. does not want to remain idle even without a big event. The association, an initiative of artists, restaurateurs and friends of the Bahnhofsviertel, would like to use the forced event break to honour the silent heroes of everyday life. And for this - as is familiar from TAB e.V. - the form of a special art project was chosen.

On the outside facade of the property Opernplatz 2, which is currently home to a pop-up location with various gastronomy businesses, the Local Heroes Wall has been created. Representing the many people who have done great things in the past, difficult months. Included are staff in intensive care units, parcel deliverers, KITA employees, supermarket employees, police officers and many other people who are there for others. On the page https://www.localheroesfrankfurt.de/ the selected Local Heroes are presented in a little more detail. They were nominated by godfathers and godmothers from the heart of Frankfurt's urban society.

Where can the Local Heroes wall be seen?

The art project is on the exterior facade of the property Opernplatz 2 from 17. August 2020 until the second week of September to experience and of course digitally on the net with the stories and pictures of the heroes.

Local Heroes Festival with WIRTZ & Shantel.

To accompany the Local Heroes Wall, there will be a Local Heroes Festival on 01 September 2020 with Daniel Wirtz with his unplugged II Orchestra & Shantel with the Bucovina Club Orkestar as well as the comedian Jochen Döring as host. TAB e.V. will stage this concert as a film on the high-rise roof of a radio station. The whole thing will then be shown simultaneously in various restaurants in the city or directly on the banks of the Main. Here the catamaran of the Blue Water will become a floating stage with an LED screen. The result should be a very special event that connects people throughout Frankfurt!
