Mainova and hr celebrate Hesse's big sports day

Actually, it was supposed to be a big day for all sports fans: Next Sunday, June 28, the Ironman should actually have taken place in Frankfurt. But this has now not only been postponed, but completely cancelled. But there is a great alternative programme: Mainova, together with the Hessischer Rundfunk (hr) and the City of Frankfurt, is celebrating Hesse's big sports day - from triathlon to tennis and beach volleyball. A central part of the big sports day is a triathlon relay race.

Among others, Mainova team captain and member of the Mainova Energie Akademie Daniela Bleymehl, Tour de France stage winner John Degenkolb and European steeplechase champion Gesa Krause, as well as the two Ironman World Champions Patrick Lange and Anne Haug.

"For months, top and popular sports in Hesse were in a corona-related forced break," said hr sports director Marcus Augustin. "After this long break, we wanted to offer the people of Hesse diverse live sports beyond football again. Thanks to the commitment of many national and Hessian top stars as well as the support of clubs and organizers, we were able to jointly plan this program for the original day of Ironman Frankfurt."

Mainova CEO Constantin H. Alsheimer says: "We are looking forward to this great sporting event. The participation of so many top national and Hessian stars once again highlights the importance of sport in our home state. That is why we, as Mainova, are participating as a partner and are committed to supporting popular and top-class sport in our region. We wish all athletes a successful competition."

The hr television and hessenschau.de will broadcast the triathlon relay race with a prominent cast on Sunday from 11 am to 4.15 clock. Embedded in the broadcast are also other show competitions from the entire region in contactless sports such as rowing, horseback riding, table tennis, tennis or beach volleyball. So if you're really in the mood for live sport again, you should definitely tune in here.
