The campaign revived by Eintracht Frankfurt in mid-April enjoyed a great response. Over one million euros in donations have been collected in recent months. Board member Axel Hellmann: "We can all be immensely proud of that." Last Thursday, an Eintracht delegation led by board member Axel Hellmann, head coach Adi Hütter, sporting director Bruno Hübner, Andreas Möller, head of the youth development centre, and Marco Russ set out for the last time for the time being to present the outstanding cheques to the five beneficiary institutions.
Eintracht Frankfurt decided to bundle its commitment in the social sector and relaunch the "AUF JETZT!" campaign against the backdrop of the social challenges posed by the Corona pandemic more than four months ago. Part of the campaign included financial reversals from the day ticket, season ticket and hospitality sectors. 30,000 season ticket holders, approximately 80,000 day ticket purchasers and more than 1,000 customers in the business seats, boxes and sponsors area could also decide, as an alternative to the refund of the amounts attributable to the last five home games of the 2019/2020 season, to donate all or part of the money to one of the five medical or social institutions involved in the "AUF JETZT!" campaign: the Arche Frankfurt, the German Red Cross Frankfurt, the Diakonie Hessen, the Frankfurter Tafel and the Frankfurt University Hospital. In addition, there are the proceeds from the sale of the campaign T-shirts and mouth-nose protection masks, which can still be purchased online and in the fan shop.
By the end of August, more than one million euros had been raised for the good cause in this way alone. Not yet included are the numerous donations in kind from sponsors, who have provided FFP2 masks, wheel sets or a leased vehicle, for example, or from private individuals.
Axel Hellmann is thrilled by the solidarity across the board: "We can all be incredibly proud of the amount that has come together within just a few months through the willingness of our members, fans, partners and supporters to help. In this form, it has exceeded all expectations." At the same time, the Eintracht Frankfurt board member announced, "At this point, we are closing the ‚AUF JETZT' campaign for now. But the issue will remain present in the Eintracht family and the region, because the pandemic will pose further challenges to our society and Eintracht Frankfurt will always try to live up to its own responsibility and provide support." According to the motto: In Eintracht for the region. (Text: Eintracht Frankfurt Fussball AG)
