Must-attend event for wine lovers: 'Wein am Main' is coming to Frankfurt for the 13th time

A good glass of wine - for many, this is simply part of a relaxed end to the day, an enjoyable dinner or a cosy get-together with dear friends. Whether white or red, sweet or dry, those who love wine are spoilt for choice - and every year new offers are added. A good overview of the latest wine trends, current enjoyment highlights and everything else around the topic of wine is now offered for the 13th time by the enjoyment fair "Wein am Main".

On April 21 and 22, Erik Kohler and his team from WMS Weinevents und Marketing Services GmbH will once again invite you to enjoy a stroll through the world of wine in the historic Casino building of the Westend Campus. The communicative wine meeting offers you the possibility to close your knowledge gaps, to fill up your stocks and to indulge in the dream substance wine to the fullest, where otherwise students cram.

Over the years, the fair has steadily evolved. However, it has always been the declared goal to convince the visitors with a perfect organization, motivated exhibitors, a great variety and an exciting seminar program. The fact that this succeeds is shown by the always very high popularity "Wein am Main" experiences. So, it is not surprising that many people have been loyal to the event from the very beginning and have already been following what is new and exciting to discover this time on the homepage of the organizer. With the increasing interest in German wines, the focus of this event is also on wines from German lands - accompanied by interesting drops from the old and new wine world. This is also part of the philosophy of the "Wein am Main".

The number of vintners from Rheinhessen, who naturally find a perfect platform in Frankfurt, has increased dramatically. This is how wine friendships begin. And those who need a refill at a later date can visit the winemaker of their choice at home in the Rheinhessen vineyards on a Sunday outing. The Palatinate is also well represented, followed by Württemberg. But the smaller wine-growing regions such as the Nahe, Saale-Unstrut, the Rheingau and the Hessische Bergstrasse are also on hand. You can also risk a look at France, Italy and Spain and have a sip from the Weinviertel with the Austrians. (Wine) globetrotters cross borders and stop for a glass from Argentina and Chile, philosophize about the wine country New Zealand and the current climate situation in South Africa.

Six exciting wine seminars accompany the "Wein am Main"

The wine seminars that accompany the fair are once again eagerly awaited. In 2018, the responsibility for the seminar program is in the hands of Dr. Wolfgang Staudt. He is the holder of the worldwide recognized Diploma in Wine and Spirits (WSET) and one of the few wine academics in Germany. In his wine school, which is run with great dedication, he has meanwhile held more than 1,000 events and has imparted wine knowledge and fun to more than 15,000 guests. Staudt's books are sought-after wine guides and it is said that those who have once sought and found advice with Staudt, will gladly come back to him again and again out of conviction.

The seminar program of the "Wein am Main" starts on Saturday, April 21, and on Sunday, April 22, each at 12:00 pm with a practical workshop sensory. Wines will be discussed and put into the glass, whose aroma play invites to discuss. Staudt promises many aha experiences and just as many new insights. On the Saturday of the fair at 14.00 hrs, visitors can find out what organic wine, natural wine and vegan wine are all about. Those in the mood for taste adventures will need a bit of courage, because at 4 p.m. the topic will be "Insects, Chocolate and Wine". Exciting pairings and absolutely unmistakable taste experiences await the seminar participants. Staudt will take his guests on an excursion into the world of white wines away from the mainstream on Sunday at 2 pm. And white it remains at 16.00 o'clock at the last seminar of this year's "Wein am Main", which Staudt has named as follows: "Sauvignon Blanc - Portrait of a Reckless Daredevil". It was not without ulterior motives that the wine expert chose this topic because the grape variety is currently absolutely trendy.

For all seminars, prior registration is required. This ensures that everyone who has secured a place will really benefit. The seminar fee is EUR 20. This also includes the entrance fee for the trade fair. Like already in the past years EUR 5, - of each seminar ticket into the donation pot of the action wander "F.A.Z. reader help ". A visit to the trade fair without a seminar ticket costs EUR 15.
