Deutsche Bahn (DB) is completely redesigning the central contact points for travellers at Frankfurt Central Station: a "DB Information 4.0" with two service stations is now in trial operation on the cross platform at tracks 4/5. The more open, customer-friendly layout will make it possible to provide information even more easily and quickly than before. From the summer, the existing DB Information opposite Platform 12/13 will also be given a new look. With two "DB Information 4.0" stations, travellers will then benefit from an enhanced range of services in a modern design.
On a large monitor, information on local features is visible from a distance. Customer monitors, which are gradually being put into operation, support personal advice daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at tracks 4/5. A luminous roof makes it easier to find. The counter's wheelchair accessibility is a great help in providing personal advice to mobility-impaired travellers.
In the redevelopment of DB Information, DB involved not only customers but also DB employees, associations for the disabled, organisations ordering local transport, rail transport companies and several start-ups. The needs and suggestions of these groups were realised in numerous workshop tests and integrated into a prototype.
