Continued vaccinations without appointment possible
After the vaccination center in the Frankfurt Festhalle closed its doors on Saturday, it continued today, Tuesday, 21. The new vaccination centre in exhibition hall 1.2 opened its doors punctually at 12 noon and was well received on the first day. As in the past, all Frankfurt residents can still get their vaccinations free of charge and without any complications at the smaller vaccination centre, which can be reached via the City Entrance to the exhibition centre, from Monday to Friday from 12 noon to 7 p.m.
"For visitors, nothing will change for the time being. Messe Frankfurt will remain the central contact point for Corona vaccination," says Dr. Peter Tinnemann, Head of the Frankfurt Health Department. "Anyone wishing to be vaccinated can do so here without making an appointment. Together with the German Red Cross Frankfurt, we are continuing the vaccination campaign on site."
In the new premises, between 500 and 1000 visitors can be advised and vaccinated daily. During opening hours, doctors and paediatricians are always on hand for detailed consultations. They are happy to provide information to those wishing to be vaccinated and answer any questions they may have about vaccination, as well as address any concerns or reservations they may have. Vaccination consultations for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers are also offered as part of the vaccination process and can take place at the vaccination center without an appointment or pre-registration.
"If more capacity becomes necessary again, we can respond quickly and flexibly at any time to be able to make an offer to all those willing to be vaccinated," adds Tinnemann. "The vaccination protects against a serious course of disease."
The new vaccination center is open Monday through Friday from 12 to 7 pm. Visitors are directed to Exhibition Hall 1.2 via the City entrance in Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage. Since 27 December 2021, a total of almost 500,000 vaccinations have been carried out at the Frankfurt Vaccination Centre. All vaccination information is provided by the City of Frankfurt's info page at www.frankfurt.de/coronavirus-fragen-und-antworten.
