Night of the Museums: Frankfurt's trains and buses run around the clock

On Saturday, May 4, over 40 cultural institutions in Frankfurt, Offenbach and Eschborn will open their doors for the Night of the Museums. Buses and trains are recommended for the journey there and back home. Frankfurt city center and the Museumsufer in particular are easily accessible by S-Bahn, U-Bahn, streetcar and bus.

S-Bahn, underground and streetcars: more space, more journeys

The space available on the subway lines U4, U6 and U7 will be significantly increased. Most lines will run into the night with longer trains. Streetcar line 15 (currently Niederrad Haardtwaldplatz - Louisa Bahnhof) will run longer, i.e. until 2 a.m., and every quarter of an hour until around 1 a.m. On streetcar line 16 (currently Ginnheim - Südbahnhof/Bruchstraße), additional trains will run every 15 minutes between the main station and Südbahnhof until around 2.30 am.

To make it easier to travel to and from Frankfurt, RMV will also run longer trains on the S-Bahn lines S1 to S6, S8 and S9 until 2.30 am.

Frankfurt's trains and buses run around the clock

For departures from the Night of the Museums or onward journeys through Frankfurt's nightlife, night services are available until the early hours of the morning: The subway lines U4, U5, U7 and U8 run all night. Streetcar lines 11, 12, 16 and 18 also run without interruption, as is usual on weekend nights. This service is complemented by the Metrobus lines and other bus routes.

traffiQ recommends that passengers find out about the best connections in advance. Information can be found online via the timetable information at rmv-frankfurt.de, by telephone via the RMV service telephone at 069/2424-8024 or via the RMVgo app.

Historic streetcars in shuttle service

The public transport offer is extended by special streetcar trips between the zoo, Altstadt and Sachsenhausen. The special trips are operated by the Historic Trams Association of the City of Frankfurt am Main using historic streetcars. Further information and timetables are available online at hsf-ffm.de.
