"Open Books", the large reading festival of the city of Frankfurt for the book fair, will take place in 2022 from Tuesday, October 18, to Saturday, October 22, as always with free admission: 100 events with about 150 authors from Germany and the world are planned. Sonja Vandenrath, who is responsible for the municipal reading festival 'Open Books', adds: "Open Books 2022 offers a diverse program with which we specifically address a broad audience. Just like in a well-stocked bookstore, we want to arouse interest in the new releases of the fall."
In addition to a focus on this year's guest country of the Frankfurt Book Fair - Spain - a focus of the international program is on authors from Ukraine, including Oksana Sabushko, Yuri Andrukhovych and Tanya Maljartschuk. In addition, the Swiss Book Prize is represented by the nominated authors on the shortlist.
With the exception of the opening event, which will be held jointly with the Blue Sofa at the German National Library (DNB), and the poetry evening "Part of the Movement" (box office), admission is free to all readings.
"Open Books Kids" will take place during the Book Fair weekend on Saturday, October 22, Sunday, October 23, at the DNB.
