From 15.11.2019 to 11.01.2020, the Frankfurt Art Supermarket opens its doors for the 21st time. As last year, the pop-up gallery for contemporary art is located for eight weeks in the Neue Rothofstraße near the Alte Oper. There, 90 national and international artists will exhibit over 5,000 works. Drawings, acrylic and oil paintings, watercolours, photo art or small sculptures are available here at low prices - true to the slogan: "Art makes you happy"! The majority of the exhibited works are offered at fixed prices between 59,- and 330,- Euro. In the higher price segment, there is also a rich selection of large-format paintings.
As usual, the presentation of the artworks takes place on the one hand in a dynamic, area-wide show on the walls. On the other hand in manageable, specially made artist boxes. So you can browse through the huge offer in a relaxed way, choose your favorite and have it framed immediately if you wish.
The art supermarket has set itself the goal that more and more people can fall in love with original works of art through a low-threshold access. And it's getting there. The vernissage of the 21st edition was very well attended and already on the first evening numerous works changed hands.
The art supermarket has become a tradition in Frankfurt. It takes place every year before Christmas and has become one of the most successful platforms for contemporary art in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The timing is perfect, as many beautiful, original Christmas gifts can also be found at the Kunstsupermarkt.
However, the organizers are not resting on their laurels. On the contrary, it is important to them to be able to offer a consistently high quality of artwork and an ever-changing range year after year. "This is what ensures that we can inspire so many visitors from all walks of life every year," says Mario Terés, the founder and organizer of the art supermarket.
