The Book Fair - A Paradise for Bookworms

The Book Fair - A Paradise for Bookworms

It's that time again: The Book Fair has opened its doors. Initially only for trade visitors, but this weekend all bookworms are once again invited to storm the exhibition halls. Whether it's a bestseller or a non-fiction book, a comic or a picture book - there really is something for everyone here. The weekend offers a particularly attractive programme. Numerous well-known authors such as Nicholas Sparks, Sebastian Fitzek or Wolfgang Hohlbein will be paying their respects, as will well-known personalities such as Gregor Gysi, Joey Kelly or YouTube star Lukas Rieger.

A visit to this year's guest country France is also absolutely recommended, as is a detour to the ARD Forum, where once again this year radio play and dubbing expert Oliver Rohrbeck (Die drei ???, German voice of Ben Stiller and others) will be offering those interested the chance to take part in a radio play in the Fairy Tale Box. The Open Stage at the Agora, the Frankfurt Antiquarian Book Fair or the 11th German Cosplay Championship in Hall 1.1 are further highlights of the Book Fair weekend.

Literature was and is one of the most important components of cultural life. This will change little in the future, even if the book has so often been prophesied an imminent end by digital media. But the Book Fair makes it clear year after year that this will certainly not happen in the near future. That's why this fair is so interesting and exciting, and not just for trade visitors. Private visitors to the Book Fair can take part in this literary, cultural experience all day on Saturday and Sunday. Bring plenty of time and good shoes, because there is once again much to discover at the 2017 Book Fair.

Fair weekend opening hours:

Saturday, October 14, 2017: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, October 15, 2017: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
