The new Glaabsbräu celebrates its 5th anniversary

Hesse may only have 80 breweries, but it is home to one of Germany's most innovative breweries, Glaabsbräu from Seligenstadt, which has a tradition going back more than 275 years. In September 2015, exactly five years ago, a new brewing plant was put into operation at the traditional company, which, with an investment sum of 3.2 million euros, represented the largest investment to date in the company's more than 275-year history and a major step towards the future.

The new brewery implements a brewing and raw materials philosophy that is unique in Germany, according to which all beers are brewed individually according to their own recipe using natural aroma hops and the highest quality raw materials. Glaabsbräu beers are natural, without additives, without chemical stabilizers and color beer. This means that Glaabsbräu brews its beers to a higher quality standard than the German Purity Law. Since the new brand identity in 2017 and the switch to the new Euro container, which has since found many imitators in Hesse, there has been continuous investment in technology and the creation of new beer varieties: Craft beers like Vicky loves Pale Ale, seasonal Hessian brewing specialties like Glaab´s Grie Soß and this year Glaab´s Stöffche. But there are also non-alcoholic beers that remain full-flavored, like Alkoholfreies Helles or Sommerradler Alkoholfrei.

"Our new positioning is very popular in the market. A traditional but at the same time innovative brewery with natural brewing specialties, which are authentic, high-quality sustainably brewed: Excitingly Different! Even though Corona is having a difficult year, we consider the current consumer trend towards more regionality and sustainability to be very positive for our brewery," emphasizes head brewer Robert Glaab.

"We are always happy about the positive feedback from our customers and are very proud of the great awards our beers have received at national and international beer competitions. Recently with gold for "Glaab´s Grie Soß" and silver for Glaabsbräu Pilsener at the World Beer Award 2020 as well as with the platinum medal for our "1744 kellertrübes" at the Meininger International Craft Beer Award 2020, which was awarded as best cellar beer of the year.", adds Julian Menner, 1st Brewmaster.
