The foolish time has also Frankfurt fully in the grip in the next few days is celebrated everywhere in the city. The first big highlight is of course the big carnival parade through downtown Frankfurt on Sunday (03.03.). Buses and trains will make sure that all fools get to the procession safely, on time and quickly.
The subway lines U1 to U8 offer more space on Sunday due to additional cars. In addition, the U3 will run at quarter-hourly intervals - twice as often - between Südbahnhof and Oberursel Hohemark from about 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Tram line 12 runs every 7.5 minutes between Schwanheim and Willy-Brandt-Platz from about 11 am to 6 pm, as does line 16 between Offenbach Stadtgrenze and Hauptbahnhof. Line 15 already runs every 15 minutes from 11 a.m.
The bus line 30 from Bad Vilbel will be extended to Konstablerwache between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., running every 7.5 minutes with articulated buses. Lines 36, 43 and 51 will also run at a denser frequency from 11am.
Altstadt: Right of way for the foolish hustle and bustle
Due to the road closures in the city centre, some tram and bus lines will be diverted or interrupted: In Frankfurt's west, the Tramline 11 will only run between Höchst and Hauptbahnhof from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Line 12 will only run between Schwanheim and Willy-Brandt-Platz, and Line 14 coming from Gustavsburgplatz will also end at Hauptbahnhof.
In Frankfurt East, a joint Line 11/14 runs from Fechenheim Schießhüttenstraße via Zobelstraße and Zoo to Ernst-May-Platz and back from 6 am to 6 pm.
The Line 18 runs from 11 am to 6 pm between Nibelungenplatz and Hospital zum Heiligen Geist a detour via Bornheim Mitte and Zoo.
The bus line 36 will be disrupted from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will only run between Westbahnhof and Konstablerwache and between Hainer Weg and Südbahnhof. The Line 33 will not resume service until after 4 pm.
Ebbel-Ex via Sachsenhausen instead of Altstadt
Just like lines 11, 12 and 14, the VGF's Ebbelwei-Express cannot use the Altstadt route this Sunday and will operate via Sachsenhausen.
With subway and S-Bahn to the train in ‚Klaa Paris'
The second highlight the fools then celebrate on Tuesday (05.03.) in Heddernheim. Here, the 180th carnival parade through "Klaa Paris" will then take place. To reach the carnival stronghold is easiest with the subway lines U1, U2, U3 or U8 (Heddernheim station) or the S-Bahn line S6 (Eschersheim station) running at short intervals.
So that the fools have the streets to themselves, the bus line 60 coming from Rödelheim ends between 11.30 and 22 clock at the Northwest Center and turns back there. For visitors to "Klaa Paris", it will run every five minutes instead of ten at the beginning and end of the parade - from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. - between Rödelheim Bahnhof and Nordwestzentrum.
