Digitalization in retail: AI tool for Frankfurt stores

Frankfurt am Main is driving forward the digitalization of the retail sector. Following the success of the PHILIPP agency in the Smart Retail Frankfurt competition in April 2024, Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt is now offering five local retailers the opportunity to test an innovative AI tool in their stores free of charge. The application phase starts immediately and runs until October 6, 2024.

AI solutions for retail

The award-winning AI tool helps customers find the ideal product in just a few seconds. Tailored product recommendations simplify the shopping process both in-store and online. The City of Frankfurt will cover the costs and technical implementation for one year as part of a pilot project.

Conditions of participation

All retailers and shopping center operators from Frankfurt can apply via an online form. The winners will be drawn by lot on October 11. The project is particularly aimed at companies that are open to digital innovations.

"An important step towards digitalization"

Head of Economic Affairs Stephanie Wüst emphasizes: "This pilot project offers Frankfurt retailers a unique opportunity to benefit from modern technologies and strengthen their presence." Ansgar Roese from the business development department also sees participation as an opportunity to act as a pioneer in digitalization.

Success stories and initial experiences

The Schnorr spice and tea house is already one of the pioneers and is developing its own AI quiz to help customers select products. Managing Director Kai Schnorr emphasizes that the tool creates a win-win situation both in-store and online.
