Hurray for the Cucumis sativus! "Hurray for the what?", many of you will surely ask now. Quite simply, we are talking about the cucumber, to which the world will pay homage on 14 June. That's because it's World Cucumber Day! For Hendrick's Gin, this day is the perfect occasion to celebrate the unusual side of the popular green plant. To this end, Hendrick's Gin has sought out nine of the most renowned bartenders in Germany this year - from Munich to Frankfurt and Hamburg to Berlin - and asked them to pay their respects to the cucumber. The reason for this is quickly found, because it is the cucumber whose infusion, together with the rose, makes Hendrick's Gin so unique. Because the cucumber gives it its fresh aroma and transforms every drink into an indescribable delicacy - stylishly garnished with a slice of green extravagance.

Three of the visiting bartenders hail from Frankfurt am Main. They have been inspired by the cucumber to create their very own drink creations, which they present to you here:

MICHELE HEINRICH - "THE KINLY BAR"

For more than five years, the 30-year-old has been creating hand-picked drinks, in which cocktail classics meet sensational creations of his own. The expert bartender uses modern culinary techniques and crosses them with classic preparation methods. Incidentally, he also trains his agility and focus in his private life: in Mixed Martial Arts - also a mixture of tradition and innovation.

.The name says it all, because this creation is not only adorned with a cucumber zest - as a sort of crown of pleasure - but it is also sprayed with glitter. The 27-year-old bartender has been a virtuoso at the bar for four years. Elaine's passion: classic drinks and cats. Why cats? Well, they are noble, strong in character and also nocturnal. After working at "Kastens Hotel Luisenhof" in Hanover and "Ona Mor" in Cologne, she advises each guest individually at "The Parlour" - every night. It is almost obsolete to mention that the presentation is also correspondingly exclusive - from the noble metal cup to drinks served in perfumed silk paper. And even the cucumber is served up here with due respect.
