It makes it easier for many people to get between Höchst and Schwanheim. Quite especially on sunny weekends it is highly frequented - the ferry Frankfurt-Höchst, also known as "Walter Kolb". Now, the only ferry in the Frankfurt metropolitan area is changing its operating hours. Instead of Wednesdays as before, ferry service will now always be suspended on Mondays. The other operating times, however, remain unchanged and are as of April Tuesday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A trip costs 1.50 euros for adults and 0.70 euros for children. The 12er collective ticket costs 7 euros for children and 12 euros for adults.
The entrainment of bicycles is free of charge in principle. Since it is a pure passenger ferry, only people and bicycles are transported between the banks of Höchst and Schwanheim. In addition to the normal ferry service, special trips with the historic ferry are also offered from time to time, such as the Skyline tours (Tuesdays & Sundays from 19.04.22-09.10.22 from 6:30 p.m.)
Responsible for the operation of the ferry is the Office for Road Construction and Development of the City of Frankfurt am Main, which has contracted a tenant to operate the ferry.
