60 works in the first collection presentation Color is everything!
Behind the gleaming white granite façade, preparations for the opening of the mre are in full swing. While the building is being given the finishing touches, Lea Schäfer, the mre's curator, and restorer Nelly Paletta are working with a team of art handlers to hang the first collection presentation. Around 60 works from the Reinhard Ernst Collection, which comprises over 960 works, will be presented under the title Farbe ist alles!
Many of the works shown in the exhibition are impressive in size and present the hanging team with a logistical challenge. The largest work, Formation Stream (1971) by Toshimitsu Imai, measures around 20 meters in width. The 18-part composition was originally created for a restaurant in Tokyo and will also offer an impressive spatial experience in Wiesbaden.
