Record results at the VDP.auctions at Mosel and Nahe

For 100 points TBA from Gut Hermannsberg the hammer falls at 13.245 Euro
"Kabinettstückchen" by Egon Müller rise from 30 to 180 Euro

This year's wine auction weekend of the Prädikatsweingüter ended on September 17 with a dream result. As early as on Friday, at the traditional wine auction of the VDP.Mosel in Trier, 1.24 million euro were raised for the 12,000 bottles offered from current vintages, which corresponds to an average price of 103 euro per bottle. On the Nahe, 5,162 bottles worth 936,967 euro found their lovers. Bids from wine fans from all over the world came in.

The 130th predicate wine auction in Trier / Mosel also brings superlatives.

Thomas Haag from the VDP.Weingut Schloss Lieser was satisfied with the increase result. A 6 ltr Methusalem bottle DOCTOR Riesling Spätlese went to a bidder for 3,623.55 euro. After 2015, Egon Müller was again happy about a new world record. His 2016 Scharzhofberger "Alte Reben" went down in auction history as the most expensive Riesling Kabinett. Called for 30 euro, the 1,200 bottles were auctioned for 180 euro each. This once again shows the renaissance the classic Kabinett, which is appreciated for its elegance, discreet residual sweetness and a relatively low alcohol content, is currently experiencing.

The former wine domain Gut Hermannsberg put a 2015 KUPFERGRUBE Riesling TBA up for auction, which the renowned Wine Advocate had already decorated with 100 points. The only freely sellable bottles of this wine went under the hammer that day: 6 x 0.375 l and one 1.5 l magnum bottle. For the latter, the hammer fell at a sensational 13,245 euros.
